Abstract: | Accurate digitization is the key to successful treatment in digital dentistry. The impact of scan strategies on the accuracy for face scanning remains unclear at this point in time. Thus, this in-vitro study was conducted to digitally assess the trueness and precision of face scanning by comparing five different-purposed scan strategies using a specific device. Twenty-five scanned data were obtained from different scan strategies (Scan technique X, Y, Z, Fixed X, and Fixed Y). A percent difference between the control group and index group was compared by using one-way ANOVA. Scan technique X showed less deviation among others with statistical significance. Thus, scan technique X may be recommended as a technique of choice for face scanning. |
