Abstract: In this research, the objective is aimed to improve the electrical properties of anode for Lithium-ion batteries by using mesoporous carbon powder from Gold beard grass pollen. Mesoporous carbon powder was synthesized via a chemical activation process with potassium hydroxide solution. These powders were calcined at different temperatures under an argon atmosphere. From the X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy results, this research successfully synthesized carbon powder from Gold beard grass pollen. The surface area and porosity examination revealed that calcined temperature influenced the amount of porosity produced. In all conditions, pores with an average size of 2.5-3.6 nm were found to disperse across the particle surface. The C-700 has a maximum surface area of 1107.447 m2/g. A large specific surface area affects the specific capacity of a battery. At 0.1C-rate, the C-700 possesses a maximum charge capacity of 788.99 mAh/g, and 98.93% charging efficiency. The results suggest that these materials have the potential for energy storage applications.
