Abstract: This study aims to 1) investigate the work from home approach of the operating staff, Chiang Mai University during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 and 2) explore the guideline to develop the work from home approach for the operating staff of Chiang Mai University. This is a mix- method research. The quantitative data was collected from questionnaires done by 430 university staff when a semi-structured interview was done in 6 Faculty's Secretaries for qualitative data. The results show that the Work from Home approach affects the overall work-life balance at high level. Considering from many aspects, the Work from Home approach affects the intellectual level, time and family issue of the staff at high level respectively. The aspect of work and finance were also affected at fair level. The qualitative results show that 1. The Work from Home approach affected specifically for some types of work. 2. Regarding the family issue, it revealed that the Work from Home approach was advantage since the staff had more time for their families. 3. In term of time, the university staff had a betterment of time management and were not much affected by the Work from Home approach. 4. The Work from Home approach affected the financial issue due to the increasing of facility's usages. 5. With regards to the intellectual issue, the Work from Home approach provided the opportunity to learn on new things using new programs. It also revealed that (2) guideline to enhance the Work from Home approach are the financial support, the flexibility of work, the follow-up plan and achievement's evaluation. Moreover, learning and applying the efficient Work from Home approach from the private sector could also develop the work-life balance.
