Abstract: | Knowledge and Knowledge Management (KM) are complex and multi-faceted concepts. KM has become a key economic resource, which has an extremely significant impact on organisational learning, which has led to a growing interest in treating knowledge as an important organisational resource. Moreover, the creation, transfer and application of knowledge in an organisation are supported by a Knowledge Management System (KMS), the components of which have been indicated in only a few studies in Thailand. According to ISO 30401, an organisation requires a foundation to implement a KMS, while KM is not mentioned in ISO 30401. Therefore, this research is based on exploring the concept of knowledge management and the requirement of a Knowledge Management System in ISO 30401 in order to advise the Royal Thai Army (RTA) of the mechanism to implement such a system, especially in the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) project. Hence, the purpose of this study is to identify the critical knowledge factors that influence the development of a knowledge management system and apply them to a framework for the Royal Thai Army (RTA) based on the KMS requirements in ISO 30401. The existing knowledge management literature is reviewed and interpreted in order to identify the most important areas of the research. |
