Abstract: | © 2019 IEEE. This paper presents a vector control technique for a dual-inverter drive fed an open-end winding induction motor (OEW-IM) with a single dc source. In addition, a space vector modulation (SVM) method for the dual-inverter drive to eliminate the differential-mode voltage (DMV) is proposed by using the continuous and discontinuous modulating schemes. These two types of the modulation technique help in eliminating the DMV at the OEW-IM's terminal to mitigate the shaft voltage and bearing current of the OEM-IM. Both the vector control method and improved SVM schemes are carried out in a 0.37kW OEM-IM by means of a MATLAB/Simulink software. Simulation results are demonstrated and discussed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method; consequently, not only the DMV but also the zero-sequence current of the dual-inverter drive system is fully suppressed. |
