dc.description.abstract© 2019 IEEE. Cooperative Education in Modern Management and Information Technology, Chiang Mai University, has prepared many individuals to become ready and wanted in the labor market by placing the students at organizations with specific job roles for 11 months to gain practical work experience. During the working period, they would be under the care and responsibility of the mentors. Therefore, the competencies for evaluating, monitoring, and developing the course have been set by applying the short-Term study method by the experts. The competency also results from a survey of 19 mentors from the software companies, industrial companies, and service companies. The core competency is divided into five categories, which are Achievement Motivation, Interpersonal Understanding, Expertise, Integrity and Teamwork, and Functional Competency. The functional competency is divided into six categories, which are Creative Thinking, Analytical Thinking, Problem Solving, Collaboration, Communication, and System Thinking. This research used the Exact probability test that found creative thinking, problem-solving, and system thinking have expectation differences in level significant 0.05.en_US
