dc.description.abstract© 2018 IEEE. In this paper, we present a method to monitor the coefficient of variation (CV) squared using two one-sided synthetic control charts. The numerical results show that our design outperforms the two-sided synthetic control chart monitoring the CV. The steady-state, which is have practical meaning in many situations, is also considered. We use a Markov chain method to evaluate the statistical performance of the proposed charts. Furthermore, the effect of measurement errors on synthetic control charts monitoring the CV squared is firstly investigated.en_US
