Abstract: | © 2018 The objectives of this research are to fabricate and investigate new smart composites for structural vibration control applications in concrete structure. The fabrication and properties of 0–3 cement pozzolan-based piezoelectric ceramic composites are emphasized. To this end, a novel approach to effectively improve the properties of cement by using pozzolanic materials and also improve poling of piezoelectric ceramic by adding a semiconductor was examined. In this research, silica fume (SF) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) was chosen as a pozzolanic materials and a third phase with piezoelectric ceramic and Portland cement to produce new composites of ceramic-cement pozzolan-third phase combination. Microstructure of the new composites was investigated using Scanning electron microscope (SEM). The ferroelectric properties and dielectric permittivity were then investigated |
