dc.description.abstract© 2013, © 2013 Taylor & Francis. Biorenewable energy sources have received considerable attention in recent years. They are used instead of fossil fuels as the main energy sources which have led to fuels depletion and environmental problems. Large quantities of food processing wastes are generated annually from different food industries. Most of food wastes contain high moisture content and are composed of mainly contents of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids which are considered as a possible renewable source together with the possible other food processing waste conversion techniques into useful energy such as syngas, ethanol, bio-oil and biodiesel. This paper reviews food waste utilization for hydrogen production under hydrothermal gasification. It is concluded that food wastes give a great potential for biorenewable energy resource which could still contribute to reduction of environmental pollution.en_US
