Abstract: Regarding the causes of plagiarism, the sample group felt that it was due to convenient access to the Internet followed by the nature of electronic documents that made it easy to copy and the students wish to get a good grade. As for penalty, although the students agreed with the penalty of the university, they felt it should not be so severe as to be removed from student status or to be suspended from the study. They thought the penalty should be at a moderate level, which was reprimanding and allowing the students to re-take the examination or resubmitting the exercise for that particular course and lastly, to be put on probation respectively.
