Abstract: The study management of important pagoda in Lampang Province, the cultural tourism and learning route aims to study the pagoda known as “Phra That” by Lanna people. Numbers of pagodas are located in Lampang province. These places are enshrined with sacred Buddha’s relics. The pagodas are architecturally beautiful. They link to the history of Lampang province. Furthermore, they are important to pilgrimage and worshipping performed by local people and tourists. The objectives of this study include: 1) Examine the context of background, architectural form, tradition and ritual of important pagodas in Lampang province 2) Examine value, importance and belief of importance pagodas as well as routes and relevant communities 3) Suggest the guideline in managing cultural tourism and learning route 4) Learn the history and pilgrimage of Lampang’s important pagodas by examining information about historical context, tradition, ritual and architectural form as well as value, importance and belief of important pagodas among different communities in 3 districts, including Maung district, Kokha district and Hangchat district, Lampang province. The information was collected from documents, survey, interview and non-participatory observation. General information was collected from sample population, for example, monks, community leaders, and people related to the communities. Then the information was analyzed and concluded. The result contained 9 places prioritized by sample population from 3 districts, 40 persons from each, totally 120 persons. The researcher applied 5 criterions for considering cultural resource value determined by International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) combined with 5 criterions of historical and social context and culture related to local pagodas as follows. 1) Historical criteria 2) Cultural criteria 3) Artistic criteria 4) Learning readiness criteria 5) Criteria of belief and favor of local people. In addition, value and importance of Lampang’s pagodas were analyzed as appropriate for learning and cultural tourism of Lampang province. It appeared that each pagoda had its own importance and distinctive point. Therefore, they were organized for learning route and cultural tourism.
